The primary goal of Campbell Youth & Family Services is to enhance the lives of economically disadvantaged youth and adults who reside in the near Westside community known as Haughville. Campbell Youth & Family Services was first established at Campbell Chapel A.M. E. Zion Church . The congregation, upon its arrival in the Westside neighborhood, realized that there was a tremendous need for outreach services. Within the proximity of the church, there were two public housing communities known as Concord/Eagle Creek Village apartments. Most of the families who resided in this community were single mothers who relied upon fixed-income support. Other social problems that these residents encountered were high unemployment rates, crime, drug and gang activities.
